Here's The Deal

I own this camera - I've have had it for a while now, and love it. As a DSLR,  it's a bit heavier than the mirrorless style, but it handles well in low light situations (the reason I purchased it) with iso up to 32000.

The 4k quality is gorgeous, but it does crop at 1.6x - so you won't get the full frame abilities. However it still deserves the HONORABLE MENTION.

I often use it for close-up shots, and since I usually export at 1080 anyway, you can zoom in on the image and make it even tighter. I get an extreme close-up, without losing picture quality.

Canon 4K Video Camera-FAQs

4K video cameras are becoming increasingly popular, but they can be expensive and confusing to purchase.

Not all 4K video cameras are created equal. Some have better features, while others are just a gimmick. It can be hard to determine which camera is the best for you.

I've created this FAQs page about the Canon 4k video camera to help make your decision easier.

Which Canon camera can shoot 4K 60fps?

The Canon 1DX Mark II can shoot 4K 60fps. This camera is designed for professional use and can capture stunning video footage.

It features a 20.2-megapixel sensor and dual DiG! C 6+ processors allow it to capture high-quality images and videos at resolutions up to 4096x2160.

The 1DX Mark II also has a rugged magnesium alloy body that is dust- and water-resistant, making it ideal for outdoor shoots.

Should I shoot 4K for YouTube?

There's no definitive answer to this question. Ultimately, it depends on your individual goals and what you hope to achieve with your YouTube channel.

4K video has a higher resolution than traditional 1080p video and can provide a more immersive viewing experience for your audience.

However, 4K footage can also tax your computer's hardware and bandwidth, so you'll need to consider these factors.

At the end of the day, it's up to you to decide whether or not shooting in 4K is worth the extra effort and expense.

But remember that not all viewers will have the necessary hardware or internet connection speed to enjoy your videos in 4K format.

What is a 4K camera?

A 4K camera is a digital camera that captures video at a resolution of 4,000 pixels.

That’s four times the resolution of Full HD, which is why it’s sometimes called ultra HD. 4K video has become increasingly popular recently, as TVs and monitors display it better.

4K video captures more data, so for the same recording time, you'll need larger memory cards with high transfer speeds and a faster internet connection for streaming.

Most major streaming services now offer 4K content, and many new phones and cameras can record in 4K.

Is a mirrorless Canon good for video?

Yes, Canon's mirrorless cameras are great for video. Their Cinema EOS line is specifically designed for video shooters.

The main benefit of a mirrorless camera over a traditional DSLR is that they're smaller and lighter, which can be helpful when shooting on the go.

They also have built-in autofocus motors that make it easier to keep your focus locked onto your subject, which is especially important when shooting video.

And finally, many offer 4K recording capabilities, which are excellent for capturing high-resolution footage.

Is 4K better than HD?

That depends on what you're using it for. 4K is sharper and more detailed than HD, but not all content is available in 4K yet.

4K is excellent for watching movies and TV shows or viewing images with a lot of detail. But HD might be good enough if you're just using it to watch the news or check your email.

What is the highest resolution a human eye can see?

The human eye's highest resolution is about 1,600 dots per inch (dpi).

The retina in the back of the eye has two types of light-sensing cells, called rods and cones. Rods are better at sensing shapes in low light, while cones are better at sensing color.

The dpi measurement is based on the number of cones a person has in their retina.

So someone with 20/20 vision has 1,600 cones per inch.

However, since most people's eyesight declines with age, the highest resolution a person over 50 can likely see is about 1,200 dpi.

Can your eyes tell the difference between 4K and 8K?

The human eye can't distinguish between 4K and 8K resolution. The only way to tell the difference is to have a screen that's 8K.

However, not all content is available in 8K resolution yet.

So if you're planning to buy an 8K TV or monitor, check the list of compatible content before making your purchase!

What cameras do professional photographers use?

There is no one answer to this question, as photographers have different camera preferences.

However, some cameras are more popular among professional photographers than others.

For example, many professionals use brands like Canon and Nikon DSLR cameras. These cameras offer much manual control, which is essential for those who want complete control over their photos.

Does Canon make a Micro Four Thirds sensor camera?

Yes, Canon does make a Micro Four Thirds camera. The Canon EOS M50 is an excellent option for anyone looking for a high-quality Micro Four Thirds camera.

It features a fast and accurate autofocus system, 4K video recording, and built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

How long does the Canon warranty last?

Canon offers a warranty on most of its products for one year from the date of purchase.

However, there may be some exceptions depending on the product. For example, the Canon EOS Rebel T6 Camera has a warranty that lasts two years from the date of purchase.

You can contact Canon's customer service department for more information if you have questions about a specific Canon product's warranty.

What is a Cinema Camera?

A cinema camera is a digital movie camera that is specially designed for shooting high-quality video.

Many cinema cameras have larger image sensors than traditional camcorders, which gives them the ability to capture more detailed images. Some cinema cameras also have special features like 4K resolution and slow-motion capabilities.

What are firmware updates for 4K Camera?

Firmware updates are designed to improve the performance of your 4K Camera. They can include things like:

  • New features or functions
  • Improvements to existing features or functions
  • Bug fixes or optimizations

You should always install firmware updates when they become available, as they can help ensure that your camera is running at its best.

What does IS mean in Canon?

In Canon, IS stands for Image Stabilization. The IS system in Canon cameras is a technology that helps to reduce the effects of camera shake, which can result in blurry photos.

The IS system consists of a lens-based unit and a camera-based unit. The lens-based unit compensates for the movement of the camera body caused by the handshake.

In contrast, the camera-based unit detects the movement of the entire camera system and sends corrections to the lens-based unit.

This combination helps to provide smooth and steady shots, even when photographing moving subjects or when you're shooting in low-light conditions.
